ya, with a pricetag like that I wouldn't accept any flaws in the monitor at all. definitely take it back.

When I said "that's about it," it wasn't a negative thing. When it comes to an iPhone, if they made those enhancements, that's plenty to guarantee another year of success. Especially alongside iOS 5.
If there is any redesign needed, its on the OS side.
iOS needs:
1) Better notifications.
2) Better communication with computers/tablets (the HP idea of syncing the Pre tablet and smartphone by just tapping each other is great. You can already do this on iOS with some 3rd party apps, but Apple implementing it at the OS level would be awesome).
3) Greater app<->app integration. This really needs to improve, IMO.
4) Better file management. (Not a Finder, but getting files onto iOS from a computer, etc., should be easier.)
5) A snazzy new look would also be nice, but not necessary.
6) RFID. I think this is really low in importance, because it will take a while to rollout (well, at least RFID payments...I love the idea of RFID to wake/sync between devices). At least as far as payments go, it will be better if Apple takes their time and does it right, involving all stakeholders to deliver a complete successful product.

War is why we evolved so far past the next "animal".Bollocks. It is absolutely nothing to do with evolution. Opposed thumbs, brain size, bipedality, toolmaking and speech have had the most influence on our development. As to whether we have evolved past any other species, that, I would have thought, is very much up for debate.

If it's Verizon or T-Mobile, I wouldn't consider it a step up. I might consider going back to Sprint now that they've considerably improved their customer service and prices. For me, Verizon would be a lateral move, as their customer service, prices and billing are a serious detractor, and their network is actually worse that AT&T's here where I am.
Verdict: All American cell companies are garbage, period. Just another reason I'm considering moving overseas.

Yeah, I'm sure millionaire Cowell really cares. Whoever was the poor winner of the X-factor will be used and spat out by him regardless if he gets to no1 or not.
Simon is an interesting character. He seems to have profited greatly off humiliating people on live television and has a unique position of capturing the attention of people on television, but also the airwaves.
Yeah that just about sums it up.
My only gripe that in in a normal year you need to sell 170,000-250,000 records to get Christmas number one, the X-factor single has already passed this mark so unfortunately it looks like more people have been buying it to prevent Rage winning. So Cowell wins either way, no such thing as bad publicity.
Incidentally, I'm not savvy with reality TV (I prefer reality) or FaceSpace Books, I heard Zane Lowe play the song about a week ago and thought, what a classic, I haven't heard that for years and went out and downloaded it. I don't agree with the people saying it's not a good song, in 1992 Tom Morello's guitar playing was groundbreaking and the lyrics ideally suit this chart battle.
But to paraphrase another Rage song, you can't rebel by buying something.

Doing Lion evaluation and testing I upgraded a Snow Leopard drive (an external clone of a working system drive) to Lion, BUT I GOOFED and somehow upgraded to Lion Server! It attempted to upgrade my server settings, which of course were not present, but did see the existing server and integrated itself into Open Directory it provided.
My conclusion from this mini-disaster is that unlike other OS X server versions, this one will be capable of an upgrade installation. That is great news! I'm still concerned about the apparently missing services, but I think we all need to wait for Snow Leopard Server BETAs instead of just relying on this Developer Preview. At that time I'll also be trying an upgrade of Snow Leopard Server cloned on an external drives.
(FWIW, I don't intend on running any of these Lion pre-releases on any internal drive because I don't have a system that I can risk.)

Wireless syncing is a lot easier and a lot less hassle. Charging the battery with an electrical outlet is the only time you need to plug your iPhone in anything, IMHO. I find syncing my iPhone to my computer to be a chore and I rarely do so because of this.

I've just hit 'Sync Now' in iSync (remember that) in my menu bar and it's wirelessly updated the two Nokias on my desk with fresh contacts, calendar and todos.
Nokia Media Transfer also wirelessly syncs my photos and music too.
Come on Apple, even Nokia do wireless syncing.

Just a point to remember in this thread. While fuel prices are much more expensive in Europe, their wages are more significant than ours in the US as well. Minimum wage in the US is currently at 7.25/hour, or roughly 1160/month based on 4 weeks of 40 hours per. This alone can explain some of the gas prices being so high outside of the US.
The minimum wage in the UK is a little over 9.50/hour USD making a monthly, min. wage of approx. 1615.00/month. In the Netherlands it is 11.54/hour USD at 1846/month. 11.92/hour USD (1907/month) in Germany, and 15.50/hour USD (2480/month) in Australia. And in France it is 12.58/hour USD or 2012/month.
You can also factor in holiday time (vacation time to us yanks) and way more paid holidays (as in actual Holidays to us yanks) with the salary as benefits.
Oh, I filled up at 3.42/gallon today.

downloaded the update, my news feed won't populate. just get an error message. deleted it and reuploaded the previous release which didn't have any problems. i could care less about the places feature so i guess it doesn't matter.
