There is definitely something weird going on in the background. Otherwise why would u take off free expression of members. Why are u challenged ?
Specially by member who is on this website from 2006. Is collecting money is the only goal left or u want to do something constructive. I am not doing something like this in anonymity but half of the team knows by name. So what's ur problem Administrator ? Is Elections a big thing to ask ?

Since nobody attempted to answer your question, let me give a try.
The answer depends on what is the EB3-PD ? If someone (like me) had a PD of 2001 , then it would have become current more than a couple of times. Just in the last two years my PD became current thrice (including July Fiasco), and am still waiting for my approval.
But if you are asking how many times did EVERYONE became current, then possibly only once (The July '07 fiasco). I can tell this for sure since 2000. I am not aware of any info before that year.
I heard that once every 5 years every category becomes current. I think in 2000 or 2001, Every category became current, I am not sure.

We are planning to go to India in the last week of September. My current AP expires by Oct 10. Hence applying for a new one. How long are AP approvals taking now a days at TSC.

I e-filed my AP renewal on May 25th, mailed the supporting docs the next day. TSC approved my AP on June 19th and I received the AP in mail on June 21st.

Thanks to all Guys. I stayed with my current and first employer for almost 6 years and paid my H1 dues. Now comes the freedom from immigration process. I am very happy that my wife will not be in limbo status if something happens to me.

Nope. My lawyer did a mistake to correct himself he applied though dates were not current.
What do you think now? any suggestion.

I believe that we'll need to print out DS-160 as well and take it to the consulate, the same way we did with previous forms. We can, therefore, write our names (or whoever is the applicant) in our native language on it.

I was under the impression that there would be some talks about the discussed bills on floor this week.I see no signs of any debate or any discussion.I have some read some posts saying that nothing would happen this year. This really confuses me as I had & I think many of us had hopes that coming weeks would decide something.
I would appreciate if someone could give everyone very clear picture of what going on ?

If you think out-off-box.... guess what? If US-govt wants to give employment-based-green card based on priority date. Then there won�t be any new immigration law in place without clearing Backlog center cases/queue and I140.
So what... As per the labor department web site, the DOL needs another 17/18 months to clear all pending labors.
I guess any new bill to become law will take another 19 to 24 months. Keep your spirit going to support the best immigration-bill.

As I understand, your GC application is based on your husband's I-140.
Does your husband work for a different employer or the same employer as yours?
If different, you can kick your employer's A$$ and they can't do a thing.
If same, they may be blackmailing you because your husband's GC depends on them for some time - 3 more months.
If it is the second case, why don't you just work on H1 for the next 3 months and then do whatever you want..
BTW, he can not do any damage to you or your pending GC in any way by cancelling your H1.. Doing it will put them in bad light for wasting a precious H1 visa by misrepresenting the facts..

Priority Date Current: Curse or Boon ?
I am EB3 India applicant with PD of August 2001 (own not substitution). Have I 140 approved since November 2005 but was only able to file I 485 in June 2007. With same employer for 10 yrs and on 9th yr of H1.
Earlier this year my PD was correct for 2 months but didnt hear anything from USCIS. My PD is current again this Nov and Dec and havent heard anything yet. Called USCIS customer svc and they said cant do anything as processing date is not current (Yes and they are going by Notice date and not Received date for service request). Lawyer says just stay cool and wait. So USCIS has no logic and no order and all we can do is wait for our stars to be aligned and case getting picked up in a sweep. Other than that being current is a curse rather than a boon because
You can not get 3 yr H1 extension if PD is current (only 1 yr).
You can not get 2 yrs EAD if PD is current.
So those dying for PD to be current think again. Its no use having PD current if USCIS is going to be so random and haphazard. It may turn out to be a curse.
Read somewhere that AC21 can not be (or not advisable to) used when PD is current. Not sure how far is this true.

Just got H1 7th year ext approved. Planning a trip to Chennai in Nov. Tried to get the VFS appointment and nothing is there for this year. There used to be an emergency appointment link and it's no longer there. Am I missing something?

For every IV member that gets their GC, would it be too much to ask them to contribute say at least $100/- ? May be this can become a norm and the starting point for an "IV Alumni" :)
