I attended the event at UMass Lowell. Congressman Marty Meehan and new governor elect Deval Patrick were at the event. The topic of discussion was "global warming". Both governor and congressman took off after the event but I had a chance to talk to their staff.
One of congressman's staff went through the folder I provided with IV documents but he works for energy related issues and will pass to the staff dealing with immigration. He did provide me the senior staff member who looks into immigration issues. I'm going to email and try and meet him. Congressman Meehan is part of the judiciary committee related to immigration.

As the health care debate draws more hate against �illegal immigrant coverage�, the Democratic Senator charged with introducing immigration reform legislation is making more excuses instead of moving forward.
Sen. Charles Schumer, D-N.Y., has decided to delay introducing legislation to overhaul the nation�s immigration laws in hopes of bringing more senators on board and crafting a bipartisan bill, his spokesman said Tuesday��We are pleased with the framework we have put together so far and the broad-based support it has gotten from a diverse group of those interested in this issue,� [Brian] Fallon said. �The fact that health care is taking longer than expected gives us additional time to now shop our ideas to a number of Republicans to see what they think and what changes they suggest.�

It takes only one person to start a movement and everyone follows it. When 4 people do it, it will be a seed for something big.
I am sure now we will get people from across the country doing this in their towns, Malls, Grocery stores, temples, restaurants etc.
This is how a grassroots movement catches momentum and is successful. The success of our rally depends on such people who will go out of the way and make the extra effort.
Kudos to Sanjeev, Raj, Murali and Kumar. You are our heroes of the week.
On behalf of core team, we thank you for this effort.

(3 years diploma after 10th)

do the Masters instead of BS online degree.
My question1: Will I be eligible to file my EB2 if I do Masters without doing BS?
My question 2: Is MS from International Technological University (http://www.ITU.EDU) is accepted bu USCIS for Immigration purpose?

BUT GUYS, dont you think we should thank USCIS Director Emilio Gonzalez as well for honoring original July visa bulletin?
His comments from the bulletin sounds so honest
�The public reaction to the July 2 announcement made it clear that the federal government�s management of this process needs further review,� said Emilio Gonzalez, USCIS Director. �I am committed to working with Congress and the State Department to implement a more efficient system in line with public expectations.�

Don't fret about the PERM time lines. It can take anywhere from 1 month to more than 6 months (for Fragomen clients) for PERM approvals/denials. Mine was filed in May and I also had to reply to an audit.
In your case because your PERM was applied more than 365 days before your 6th year H1 expires, even if you PERM approval doesn't come until Jun 09, your employer can file for a 1 year extension.
Now, I am not very sure about this scenario in case of a PERM denial. Maybe someone else can comment on that one.

IV is not for any particular nationals. While ROW is also affected because of retrogression, India and China are severely affected and there is hardly any movement in EB2/3 for India. The hard country limits in EB system and inability to capture unused visa numbers are just 2 of the many reasons responsible for retrogression. These forums have been misused by some people to advertise about their firm. May be the other member skimmed through the post and considered it a similar ad. OP has given a fitting response. Welcome to IV.

My PERM LC got approved recently(two weeks back). In my case its MS+0 years. My attorney says this will qualify for EB2. MY job title is Computer Software Engineer.

Come on folks - all the way to Riverhead we have tonnes of people living in these areas affected by Retrogression.
EAD is not a solution - EAD just makes our life a bit easier than on h1b - the struggle continues even on EAD.
How can you expect govt to fix your problem if you lack motivation?
Lets start mobilizing the chapter
Remember, we are no VIPs, we are in a mass distribution system and no one has special previlidges here, your lives won't change uless you motivate yourselves and speak up for yourselves.
We need a very strong resprsentation from everyone in the community.
Ignoring our requests only puts all of us in a tougher situation

If you have a viable option: go for it.
Here is the math:

I 485: 2 months
So you can potentially get your GC in lest than 15 months.
EB3 is not very predictable as many of the old cases are either through CP or at local offices (not accounted for in USCIS statistics). It may become current in above time frame; but if you do have a good option of going for EB2, it will be certain. So if I were to be you, I would seriously consider it.

I believe AC21 is for shifting employers on EAD after 180 days of I-485.

You apply for H1 transfer before you join new company. Once u get the H1 receipt (2 weeks) then u can be in their payroll. Then file for AC21. If all goes well this is my plan in June 08.
My question is my wife has her EAD expiring 10/10/2008, AP on 11/19/08. She wants to travel to india in May and return in november. is it ok if I change employer while she is in india, my concern is when she comes back in november her EAD is expired, will it affect our 485 status?

u should just do a walk in and see. i did a walk in with my wife and the guard did not even look for the date. just walk in and see what happens.. dont say u r there to prepone...if they see the date at that time..request/beg them based on ur circumstances.
I did mine in Southern california and the set up is staffed by very few people and they were exceptionally helpful. I think just walking in may work.
